Ernst Haeckel Haus (Historisches Arbeitszimmer)
Image: Jürgen Scheere (University of Jena)After completion of the renovation work on the Ernst Haeckel House of the University of Jena, the residential character of the "Villa Medusa" can be experienced again in the rooms of the ground and upper floors. Based on historical findings, wall, ceiling and floorboard paintings have been reconstructed and four rooms on the upper floor have been furnished with historical paper wallpapers that pick up on the original patterns. Until the reopening of the museum's new permanent exhibition, the guided tours will focus on the new splendor of the "Villa Medusa" and provide insights into the process of renovating the house.
A free guided tour (up to a maximum of 12 people) will take place on 09.04.2024 from 16.30-17.30. Interested persons please register via our online registration form.
